Limited copies back in stock! we managed to get our grubby mitts on this limited and hard to find brand new release by the great late Drexciya, and there are some goddamn superior beats hidden in these fine grooves. Released on the obscure Kombination Research imprint, this project has been the subject of much online speculation in recent months, intensifying as mp3’s started to surface from an unknown source containing tracks that sounded remarkably like vintage Drexciya. This was either a brilliantly produced imitation or the real thing. The opening track settles the score instantly - as good as anything the aquatic ranger has delivered over the last 10 years, ‘Bermuda Triangle’ opens with lush strings that lead to those distorted skipping kicks and a heavy bassline that is unmistakeably Drexciyan, the cascading arpeggiators and dark futurism leaving no room for conjecture – mighty track! ‘Synchronised Dimensions’ employs acid stabs that funk the track up, dark synth keys attach themselves to the beat and develop the atmosphere with a minimised arpeggio of detuned synths, and a trademarked Detroit imprint to this alien electro glide. The Other People Place style ‘Consequences of Cloning’ emerges with an emotive, airy vibe that last made an appearance on the classic ‘Live at the Laptop Café’ 12”. Shimmering smooth Rhodes-esque synths evoke a late spring vibe, while the beats keep the track rooted in an electroid mesh of wires, your head nodding to the groove, a rewind is a must, classic track alert! The dark tsunami of ‘Galactic Rotation’ is up last, one for the Ultradyne fans with a heavy and disturbing trawl through the ranger’s darkest side, heavy acidic synths and gloomy strings evoking an air of dread - a real dark steppa. Complete with obscure and thought provoking quotes on the back, Abstract Thoughts is yet another beguilling Drexcyan offshoot - sheer brilliance from the kings of the electroid oceans. Essential.
